Cedar Key is Florida's "first key", and if you're thinking way down South you're heading in the wrong direction. Nestled in the Gulf of Mexico, in North Florida, Cedar Key transports visitors to Old Florida. Now there are two businesses breathing new life into their charming island. These new establishments make their home in two… Continue reading Two new places you must visit in Cedar Key
Today marks three years since my very first blog post at OrlandoInformer.com! When I started ThisFloridaLife back in July 2012 I hoped to simply share my love of my homestate of Florida and use it as a vehicle for me to explore more of this great state. After a few months of writing under my… Continue reading The best of my OrlandoInformer.com blog posts
With a name like Old Fish House, you may not expect much. Or perhaps, you get the feeling that this is the salt water dive you've been craving. Located in Grant, FL (not too far from Vero Beach, FL nor Cocoa Beach, FL) this oceanside bar and grill offers elevated food in a casual atmosphere.
One of the best features of this exotic themed bar are the Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto tiki mugs. True to the authentic tiki bar experience, there are a variety of souvenir tiki mugs that are quite the hot ticket items. Walt Disney World announced the opening of an Indiana Jones themed bar coming to Disney Springs (aka Downtown Disney). Immediately I was jubilant, especially when I read that there would be themed special effects reminiscent of my beloved Adventurers… Continue reading Indiana Jones themed bar coming to Walt Disney World, but the natives are restless
I love Casselberry. But there are a few drawbacks, one being a lack of quality independent restaurants. However, Colorado Fondue Company has stood as Casselberry's best independent restaurant for years and years. It truly is a treasure, one that has a special place in my heart. Nearly every family special occasion throughout much of my… Continue reading Colorado Fondue Company – A Casselberry Classic that continues to warm our hearts
Amid the bustling streets of Hogsmeade Village at the original Wizarding World of Harry Potter, is a dark, dank pub tucked alongside the Three Broomstick restaurant. Here weary Muggles queue up to order a cup of Butterbeer, Pumpkin Juice, or non-alcoholic cider. However, Hog’s Head Pub is also home to a variety of specialty adult… Continue reading The Specialty Drinks at Hog’s Head Pub – Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Sailing aboard a Disney Cruise offers an ocean of opportunity to indulge. There are so many wonderful experiences waiting for you to enjoy, especially on 7 night or longer sailings. A series of adult beverage seminars is one of the more popular experiences offered on longer sailings. These seminars are a fantastic way to explore… Continue reading Mixology Class aboard the Disney Magic – raise your glass and toast a great experience
