First Impression of New Fantasyland

It came unexpectedly. On Friday October 12, New Fantasyland opened for “dress rehearsals”. Being that it was unexpected, sorry to say I could not spend as much time as I wanted and am unable to provide as much detail and thoughts as I would wish.

Thankfully, I am able to participate in two upcoming previews and will be able to take the time this beautiful new land in the Magic Kingdom deserves. In short, New Fantasyland is bright, beautiful, and incredibly well themed. The walkways, the queues, the menus, the water fountains, the landscaping, and most of all the Cast Members all add to the theme and story. THAT’S what a theme park is all about: story.

Criticisms have started to sprout throughout the internet.  Not big enough.  Not enough stuff for boys. Yadda yadda. Is it the most perfect area to ever grace a theme park with its presence? Probably not, but it is everything it needs to be.  It elevates and brings to life the stories of two beloved classics: The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast.  Although I am not by any stretch of the imagination a professional photographer, I would like to share a few quick photos. Please note that these could be considered spoilers and I was literally rushed through New Fantasyland by my husband. Enjoy!

Skuttle inside the queue,… very nice touch!
We hit the ride right before it got crazy busy
Being a villain has never looked so good
No one poses like Gaston
Not sure how I feel about the pork shank, but the brew was refreshing
It was too packed for us to get to the main room,… still… the details are great even in the side room
One of the best parts of New Fantasyland… the costumes!
Until we meet again… the kingdom awaits!
