Getting there and getting home

Careful planning will pay off when it comes to getting to Red Hot & Boom and will result in a smooth ride home.  People driving to the event should find a place to park in the direction they need to go when they leave. Traffic will be restricted on some streets close to the start of the fireworks show, and some streets will have one-way traffic after the event to help speed the flow of traffic.  Visit http://uptownaltamonte.com/files/2013041914265505.pdf for traffic notes and tips for an easy ride home. For those who live nearby, walking is a great option.

Weather

Red Hot & Boom will take place on July 3 – regardless of the weather. Storms can cause the fireworks to be delayed, but the show will go on.  Emergency service providers, including the Altamonte Springs Police Department, Seminole County Fire Department, Seminole County Sheriff’s Department and other agencies have plans in place to deal with the threat of severe weather. Heat can also take its toll, and people are strongly urged to stay hydrated. First aid tents will be staffed by fire and paramedic crews to deal with medical issues.
